We know that it takes time to look your best and that by doing that, you are bolstering your self-confidence needed to get heads to turn as you walk down the road.

However, did you think that your makeup and beauty routine can help you radiate love to the people around you? There is a new study that has been conducted by Revlon and Fordham University that suggests that by partaking in this daily ritual where you are focusing on yourself and improving how you feel about yourself will help others fall for you.

The study asked a group of 710 women to follow a daily beauty routine that required makeup, fragrance, chocolates, and a mirror. At the end of the study, an incredible 97% said they saw an improvement in their love lives.

The study also shows that love can be quite contagious and it should be one condition we don’t mind sharing. After the study was conducted, partners were more likely to reciprocate various acts of romance.

Even more, interestingly, 85% of the women who participated in the study revealed a positive change in how their peers reacted to them. 65% of them noted an increase in compliments paid by their partners and over half (56%) of the women said that they noticed more people had started to flirt with them.

On a broader level, these rituals are conscious, sensorial, and even a symbolically meaningful activity that has the power to change our emotional state of mind. When this happens to a beauty routine, you can include self-confidence and an infectious energy to the equation.

It shouldn’t be surprising that a simplistic beauty routine can train your mind to increase the way you feel about yourself. When you are so full of self-love, it is impossible to not spread it to others that you meet on the street.

If you think about it, it makes sense that the way you feel about yourself will be how people feel about you. Let’s say you had a bad haircut and it’s gotten you down, people are going to see that you’re upset and tread carefully around you. But when you are able to take a few moments and make yourself feel good about yourself and your appearance, people will take note and treat you accordingly.

Tracy Rohrbaugh, Vice President of Marketing at Revlon, said, “Taking the time each day to appreciate yourself, especially what makes you unique, is a simple but effective way to create positive energy. This daily ritual can manifest more kindness, more affection, more flirting, and more love. Initiating this virtuous cycle helps the doer to both give and receive more love.”

So the next time you’re feeling down in the dumps, it may behoove you to force yourself to go through your daily beauty routine, even if you don’t feel up to it. Why? Because once you put on your makeup, you fixed your hair, and you’ve recited your daily affirmations, you’ll be feeling better and you’ll start to exude that positive energy; and that is what people will pick up on and give back to you.
