The focus here is not purely on relationships because we know that it can be hard to even make friends that fit with your lifestyle when you have gone teetotal. There are a few dating sites which have picked up this idea, but few other sites focus on the idea of letting ex-addicts and alcoholics make friends as well as romantic connections online. So, if this is an idea that appeals to you all you need to do in order to get involved is register, create your own profile, and start chatting to other sober living people in your area. The thing about sobriety chat rooms is that they’re not all that different from romantic and dating chat rooms; the same rules apply, in short. If you want to get attention and meet more people you need a good idea of what you want, a decent profile, and a proactive approach. Of course, if you're just looking to meet friends a profile picture is less important than your hobbies, interests, and ‘about me' sections. The reverse could be said to apply if you are looking to date, but in our experience, a solid bio section is always the best tool you have. Obviously, you'll want to avoid profile pictures that show you at your worst (drunk, etc.) or in states of undress, but other than that just pick a few that represent you well (perhaps ones that show your hobbies, i.e. you playing guitar etc.).
